HR Prescriptions

HR Prescriptions takes the “pain” out of people management. We keep it simple by offering a range of remedies for your success:

  • On-Site HR Management – For small/mid-sized employers needing to set up and/or manage the HR function on a limited basis, we go on-site as needed (generally once a week or twice a month) and provide policies, forms/documents for day-to-day recordkeeping, counsel for managers and employees for performance improvement and building employee relations, and management training (unlawful harassment, employee coaching, etc.). If an administrative employee is designated for the day-to-day processing of HR paperwork, we train that employee on HR basics. We are also available by phone or e-mail whenever we are off-site.
  • HR Advisory Services – Our HR expertise provides clients with a reliable resource to answer questions and provide guidance and counsel on the general field of Human Resources and specifically pertaining to issues of employment, management practices, performance management, employee coaching or discipline, terminations, leaves of absence, training, workers’ compensation and more. Our advice is simple and practical to ease the burden of making difficult decisions.
  • Employee Handbooks – We create customized handbooks for any size company and personalize it for their business and culture. Our handbooks are not “canned.” We spend a few hours with the client discussing their current policies/practices and make recommendations for policies that will cultivate their employee population and positively impact the bottom line.
  • Training – Our programs enhance the skills of management and non-management employees presenting topics such as unlawful harassment, coaching/counseling employees and recruiting the right people. We also have an exclusive customer service program which enriches the customer service skills for non-English speaking employees.
  • Translation/Interpretation Services – Spanish translation of all HR documents, Employee Handbooks (ours or the client’s existing handbook) as well as personal interpretation for coaching Spanish-speaking employees. All training programs are also available in Spanish.
  • Program Design and implementation – We create customized Performance Management Programs, New Employee Orientation Programs, Employee Recognition and Incentive Plans, Job Descriptions and HR Policy and Procedure Manuals.
  • HR Audits – This comprehensive analysis determines if an organization’s HR function is 1) supporting its goals and objectives; 2) determines areas in which the business may be at risk for non-compliance with Federal, State or local employment regulations, and 3) offers recommendations and resources for the practices or procedures that would refine the existing operating systems for efficient and effective HR Administration.
  • Investigations – We conduct sexual harassment and discrimination investigations in response to internal employee complaints/claims or as required in response to claims from the DFEH, EEOC or a lawsuit.
  • DOL hearings – We represent clients at DOL hearings and provide assistance in responding to complaints and claims, including those from the DFEH.
